DeShields set the ACC's freshman scoring record at North Carolina before transferring to Tennessee, following in the footsteps of her father, former MLB outfielder Delino DeShields, and older brother Delino Jr., also a big leaguer. Chicago made her the third overall pick in 2018, and she broke out with an All-WNBA season in 2019 before helping the Sky win it all in 2021. She's since moved through stops with Phoenix, Dallas, back to Chicago, and now Connecticut.
